Happy 5th Birthday, Campus London!
At one of London’s premier street food venues, entrepreneurs, executives and creatives gathered for an evening of celebrating the 5th anniversary of Campus London, the UK location of Google’s international startup hub. Located in trendy Shoreditch, Campus London hosts co-working spaces, event venues, and resources like a startup school, weekly mentoring events, and the high-profile startup accelerator, Seedcamp.
The week of the 5th-9th of June saw Campus London hosting a series of celebratory events ranging from talks by successful founders to a Demo night showcasing the work of up-and-coming startups, but the highlight of the week was unquestionably the Campus anniversary party.
At the Dinerama street food arena, guests were greeted with prosecco and handed passports entitling them to food and drinks for the evening. The walls were covered in colourful panels with congratulations from the founders of the dozens of companies that Campus has helped to succeed in the past half decade.
Inside the venue, entrepreneurs mingled over Campus-themed cocktails with names like Techhub Twist and Seedcamp Spritz, pitching each other their mobile banks and ethical clothing brands. Friends posed in goggles and lab coats for photos at the science-themed photo booth and got their faces 3D-printed in the form of a chocolate lollypop.
About a dozen stalls served all manner of food and drink, from tacos to pizza to doughnuts. Everything we ate was fantastic, but one vendor, in particular, deserves a special mention: the steamed pork dumplings by Yumplings had us coming back not two, but three times.
The evening was a fantastic way to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Google’s centre of innovation – the team at KOMPAS wish Campus a very happy birthday and many more years of startup support.
